GovPilot Help and Guides

Statewide New Jersey Portal

For towns

What changes for your clerks when your town goes live on mynjgov.com, and a press release you can fill in and issue to your residents.

Questions towns ask

Will there be downtime, and do clerks need training?

No downtime and no required clerk training. Submissions arrive in GovPilot or SDL Desktop as they do today, and you process them the same way.

Why are some of our modules missing from our town page?

During the beta, some services are still being added or checked. Send your CSM the list of what's missing.

Can we test without creating records in our live system?

Yes. Until GovPilot turns on filing for your town, a submit files nothing, so no records land in your live account.

What will our town's page show? Can we customize it?

Your town's name, seal and county, and its services by category. The seal and website come from your GovPilot account. To change them, change them in your GovPilot account.

Who sets and edits the fee schedule?

Your town sets its fees, the same as today. To add new fee line items, contact support as you do now.

Will our custom statuses show to residents?

Yes. The resident's status tracker follows your workflow, including your custom statuses.

Can residents edit and resubmit after we send something back?

No. Send-backs work by email as they do today.

Can staff scan a paper application at the counter into the portal?

No. The portal takes applications that residents file online.

Is the portal the same as online plan review?

No. The portal handles the permit application.

Who do we contact with questions, and is there training material?

Your CSM, for questions and for training material.
