Privacy and security

During the beta, most towns do not take applications through the Statewide New Jersey Portal yet. See what happens after you submit.

Can other people see my information or look up my property?

Other residents can't see your account or your own drafts. The town you apply to receives your application, and GovPilot staff can look up your account to help you. If you file for a business or household, members whose role allows it see those applications, drafts included. The Statewide New Jersey Portal also has a public property page for each address with public property facts, such as block and lot, assessment, taxes and sales, plus the town's permit and inspection records and their status. It doesn't show owner names.

Is my personal and payment information safe?

Yes. The Statewide New Jersey Portal is run by GovPilot, which is SOC 2 compliant. Payments go through your town's existing card processor. The portal doesn't take or keep your card details itself.

Still need help?

For a question about your application, a fee or a rule, contact your town. For help with the portal itself, email support@govpilot.com.
